Estate Planning That Secures Your Future and Preserves Family Harmony
Planning for the future isn’t just about money — it’s about making life easier for the people you care about most. Without a plan, state law decides who inherits your property, and your family could face expensive court processes, unnecessary taxes, and even painful disputes between siblings or children.
A thoughtful estate plan gives you control and clarity. It makes sure your wishes are followed, your loved ones are cared for, and your family avoids the confusion and conflict that often arise when there’s no guidance in place. My role is to walk you through the options, explain the details in plain language, and ensure you never sign a document you don’t understand.
Every plan is unique, but most families benefit from three core documents:
Will – directs how your assets are divided, names guardians for children, and puts your wishes in writing.
Healthcare Power of Attorney – designates someone you trust to make medical decisions if you can’t.
HIPAA Authorization – ensures your healthcare decision-maker has access to the information they need.
Today’s estate planning also means addressing newer, more complex issues. Families need to think about digital assets, business ownership, blended family dynamics, and even special needs trusts. The law changes, too — so reviewing your plan every few years is critical to keep it current and effective.
I know estate planning can feel overwhelming — the documents are long, the language is technical, and the process itself can feel intimidating. That’s why I take the time to walk through each paragraph with you, making sure you understand exactly what you’re signing and why.
Almost everything can be handled remotely. From the initial consultation through reviewing drafts, we can meet by secure video or phone so you don’t have to leave home. When it comes time to sign, however, Connecticut law requires certain documents to be executed in person with witnesses or a notary. We’ll make that part of the process smooth and straightforward.
Whether you’re creating your first estate plan or updating old documents, my goal is the same: to give you peace of mind today and prevent conflict tomorrow. Together, we’ll make sure your family has the clarity and protection they deserve.
Estate planning made simple — handled securely, wherever you are, with in-person signing only when required.
